The main objective of this research was to examine the implications of Covid-19 in comparison with other diseases and its impact on the Peruvian economy. A descriptive methodology with a qualitative approach was used, and data collection was carried out through documentary analysis and the description and interpretation of the state of the art. The results revealed that the Peruvian economy has experienced a significant impact because of Covid-19 compared to other diseases. As a result, several measures were implemented to reduce the spread of the virus and improve the economic situation, which led to the reactivation of trade and, consequently, to economic recovery. However, it was observed that the delay in adopting these measures aggravated the economic crisis. In summary, this research highlights the economic consequences of Covid-19 compared to other epidemics, emphasizing the need to take timely measures to mitigate its impact and promote economic recovery....
An analytic framework is proposed to assess budgets across a series of dimensions, including whether it instills aggregate fiscal discipline, facilitates strategic prioritization of expenditures, and encourages effective and efficient use of budgeted resources, offering budgetary stability. The process should be transparent and timely and support public awareness and participation. This framework evaluated the U.S. budget, considering both areas of systematic inefficiency while reviewing the history of budget reforms. When fiscal policies and medium-term budgetary objectives are debated in Congress, budget strategies and policies are “owned” more widely. However, more active participation by the legislature runs the risk that fiscal discipline deteriorates. In addition, ethical codes within public budgeting demonstrate the need for a professional ethic that fosters an expanded sense of role responsibility. The report asserts that responsible budgeting decisions must be tied to understanding how administrative activities affect collective welfare. Instead, priority setting in the federal bureaucracy resembles the market situation of nineteenth- century capitalism where aggressive “policy entrepreneurs”, unequal in talent and resources, struggle to build and sustain support for their programs. Finally, the competition between policies is both reflected in and promoted by the budgetary process....
Environmental degradation, finite resources, and fluctuating oil prices have driven Morocco’s transition to clean and renewable energy. However, the country faces challenges in meeting its future energy demand, leading to increased reliance on imported fossil fuels and carbon emissions. To address these challenges, Morocco has set ambitious targets for renewable energy deployment. This paper examines the relationship between renewable and non-renewable energy consumption and analyzes their impact on profitable growth in Morocco. Our empirical results show that renewable energy is positively associated with profitable sustainable development, and there is a causal relationship from renewable energy consumption to profitable growth and from profitable growth to CO2 emissions. Innovative financing solutions are needed to support the growth of renewable energy systems, as they offer sustainable, unlimited, and decarbonized energy sources to address future energy challenges. Morocco’s strategy to develop solar, wind, and hydroelectric power has placed the country in a promising position to meet energy demands while reducing carbon emissions....
Through a systematic literature review (SLR) of 36 peer-reviewed journal papers in the field of environmental and energy economics and policy, this paper explains the welfare significance and equality issues connected to addressing climate change, the role of taxation and cap-and-trade, the formulation of discount rates, the analysis of existing policy effects, the role of government, the impact of technological innovation, the analysis and potential impact of human behavior, as well as the non-market valuation. This systematic literature review combs existing research on the scope of climate change, and reflects the impact of society, government, enterprises, and the public on climate change. In addition, I will conduct an in-depth discussion and analysis of some findings, and present ideas for further and more comprehensive future research that could guide policy solutions to climate change....
This study investigates the impact of corporate governance indicators on firm value as substitutes for “other information” variables in the Ohlson valuation model. The study applies the Ohlson (1995) valuation model to analyze 61 companies listed on Classification 1 and 2 of the Mongolian Stock Exchange (MSE) during the period of 2007-2022. The corporate governance indicators considered in the study are the governance level, type of control, and shareholding structure. The empirical findings reveal the significant impact of these governance indicators on firm value, indicating that they can be useful substitutes for the “other information” variables in the Ohlson model. These results provide insights for policymakers and managers to enhance corporate governance practices in their firms, which can lead to increased firm value and better financial performance....
